July 6th, 2015

Below are samples of workplace prayers for your week. They're from our friends at and authored by Dr. James H. DaughdrillYou can sign up to receive weekly prayers via email here.

Monday (Meditation: Psalm 4:8)

God, apart from You there is no lasting peace, and no lasting comfort. Apart from serving You and serving others, there is no lasting joy. God, all things are in Your control and I happily and gratefully leave them there. Your will be done. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Tuesday (Meditation: Philippians 2:3-4)

God, in my work, may I not lose sight of Your presence. May I be aware that Your kingdom is as real as my goals, my strategies, and my budget. Bless my associates and their families. May we work together in mutual support. Help us to be aware of each other's needs, to share each other's joys, to celebrate each other's successes, to promote each other's plans, and to listen to each other in times of sorrow. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.

Wednesday (Meditation: Psalm 25:4-5)

God, let my day begin with You as the center . . . with Your initiative of grace as the starting point ... with Your face as the focus of faith . . . with Your providence as the continuum . . . and with Your Presence as the complete fulfillment. Praise be to You, O God! Amen.

Thursday (Meditation: Romans 8:26-27)

God, teach me how to pray. Help my time of prayer to be a time of reflection. Make my meditation a time of listening ... a time of resting ... a time of accepting . . . a time of yielding . . . a time of restoration . . . a time of growth. Speak, O God, for your servant listens. Amen.

Friday (Meditation: Romans 12: 9-13)

God, each day when I wake up thinking about my own needs, I feel selfish and guilty.  But when I pray, "Use me, God, to help someone else today," I feel connected - to You, to the one whom I can serve, and to all of Your creation.  Guide my steps in Your service.  In Jesus' name.  Amen.
