Prayers at Work: November 4-8, 2019

November 3rd, 2019

Monday (Meditation: Matthew 16:24-25)

God, make me a servant-leader in the image of Christ. Help me to have the interest of others at heart, not just my own. Grant me the initiative to act without opinion polls, and the courage to take responsibility without blaming others. Help me to act under Your authority, not mine. Help me to know my strengths and limitations, taking time for rest and prayer, and not wasting my energy on everything that is going on around me. God, make me a servant-leader following the example of Christ, my Lord. In His name, I pray. Amen.

Tuesday (Meditation: John 14:1-3)

God, with my hand in Yours, I am ready to experience whatever lies ahead. I am prepared to trust You. I am prepared to trust Your timing. I am prepared to yield to Your will. God, with my hand in Yours, I know that I will be given sufficient strength to face each day, that I will be delivered, and that I will share in Christ's victory forever. Amen.

Wednesday (Meditation: Philippians 4:11-13)

God, my friend has been fortunate and he has a successful career, but he is discontent and unhappy. What was once spontaneous, is now routine. What was once exciting, is now mechanical. What was once joyful, is now hum-drum. God, restore to him the joy of his salvation, and may that joy make all things new for him. Through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.

Thursday (Meditation: Exodus 20:3)

Dear God, the greatest temptation in my life is to take something good, and make of it a god. Things like work, popularity, pride, accumulation, health, success, peace of mind. These are good things. But help me to recognize when they begin to trump Christ in my life. When anything, even good things, weaken my walk with Christ, help me to see what I'm doing. Help me to repent, and give Christ the throne position in my life. Amen.

Friday (Meditation: I Corinthians 13:4-7)

God, it seems to me that marriage is like a dance. Sometimes we hold each other close. At other times we get caught up in doing our own thing. Help us to be sensitive to each other's needs, so that we dance to the rhythm of love. And God, may we always follow YOUR leading, and the rhythm of YOUR love. In Jesus' name. Amen.
