The Gospel Changes Everything at Work

November 4th, 2014

Katherine Leary Alsdorf became a Christian and a CEO in Silicon Valley the same month and says she didn’t know how to do either. After 10 years of foraging her own faith in the workplace, Katherine became the founding executive director of Redeemer Presbyterian’s Center for Faith and Work in New York City, which she led 2002 to 2012.

At the Faith @ Work Summit she stressed how we need to help Christians in the workplace understand how the gospel changes everything in life -- including our work. We have a new compass for life. When we integrate our faith with our work, we have a new reason and motivation to get out of bed and go to work.

The gospel changes why we work, how we do our work, and how we view the people with whom we work. It gives us new joy, new hope, and a new perspective on what’s important, which makes people ask, “What’s different about you?”

As Christians called to the workplace, we are ambassadors for Christ and can be catalysts that help transform a consuming culture to a serving culture. Watch Katherine Leary Alsdorf's talk at the 2014 Faith @ Work Summit below.
