The Internet, Human Creativity, and Freedom

February 16th, 2013

Have you stopped lately to thank God for the World Wide web? The Internet as a place where people use their God-given creativity and entrepreneurial spirit to create many benefits we enjoy. This post by Taylor Barkley reminds us what a privilege it is to have access to important information in the free world as opposed to closed counties where the government controls information and thus distorts reality for its people. Free access to information is important for human flourishing as well. Barkley writes

Consider the internet’s advantages that people living in free countries experience on a regular basis:

  • More products are made more easily available to people living in rural or hard-to-reach areas.
  • Loved ones can communicate with others who live far away.
  • University-level education materials are available at little to no cost.
  • Various forms of entertainment are accessible on-demand.

The list goes on.

Read Barkley's article and stop and than God for the Internet and the freedom we have.

In what ways does the Internet help you flourish in your work?
