Five Trends Shaping the Workplace of the Future

In a series of articles, Jacob Morgan, Forbes contributor and author of The Future of Work, describes the trends that are “creating an unprecedented war for talent that is forcing organizations to shift from creating an environment where they assume employees need to work there to an environment where employees want to work there.” Many companies that assume they know what kind of environment their employees need are having to do 180-degree turns.

As Christians in business, it’s important to understand and respond to the times like the men of Issachar (1 Chronicles 12:32).

According to Morgan,

Employees are bringing new values, attitudes, expectations, and ways of working into their organizations.

Here are the trends Morgan outlines:

New Behaviors are shaped by social media and the web.

Technologies are forcing us to rethink jobs that humans can and should do.

The Millennial Workforce brings new attitudes and expectations.

Mobility connects us anywhere and everywhere.

Globalization gives organizations the ability to work in a world where boundaries do not exist.
